I am all for police being armed while on duty. Police require a firearm to carry out their job. As do the defence forces, NPWS, professional roo shooters etc
I am suggesting that police should not be allowed to be armed off duty. We are expected to trust the police to be there to protect us...
If you were getting threats by a well known organised crime syndicate/ family linked to several confirmed under world killings I would also be carrying a firearm 24/7.
Thats my problem. If I was getting credible threats I would NOT be permitted to carry a firearm because I am not a member of...
Top cop issued with gun after credible threats - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Am I being unreasonable or does everyone else believe that this is unacceptable? Why should he have a right to carry a firearm off duty just because he is a police officer?

Hmmm, not only did we not get a reply, they got the s****s with the fact that this topic and concealed carry dominated the comments area. So now we only have 'party sanctioned' ideas from MP's and you no longer have a choice to 'dislike' an idea.........

I am guessing from your location that you are in Australia, so have a look at these two.

Hi everyone,
I had a bit of a strange drift happening with my 222R(788 Remington). It shoots perfectly at 200 yards, but in zero wind the other day I was shooting out just past 300 yards and was getting hits around 6-8 inches to the right of where they should have been. Rather annoyed that I...
It is time for evidence-based gun controls. - Liberal Party of Australia
Spread the word. Hopefully we can get a response from the shadow minister.
I thought it may be an idea to start sharing these things through the forums so we can get as many supporters as possible so I will post things...
The scope I was testing was the NcStar Mark III 10-40*50 AO. I thought I would post a few brief results up in case anyone was interested:
The good bits,
-The scope seemed to hold it's POI well(was used on a 788 in 222 remington, not sure how it would go on a big kicker) and the adjustments did...
Ok thanks everybody, NcStar obviously arent held in high regard but Ive been offered one for review so I will see how it turns out. I will post results when I am finished testing. Wish me luck :)

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your help. I found a really good load with 30 grain berger projectiles(my rifle has a 1:9 twist), 21.5 grains of benchmark 2 and remington 7 1/2 primers. It shoots regularly 1/2 moa to 3/4 moa.
Cheers
Michael
Hi everyone,
I have a 10-40*50 Ncstar scope to go on my new(well secondhand) Remington 788 in 222 remington. Can I have everyones honest opinions on this scope?
I tried 26 grains of Win 760 with hornady 25grain hps and got some better results with that(not that much better though only about 1.5 MOA). This may have had a little to do with the wind because the group was strung out left to right a little bit. Is it actually possible to get IMR or varget...
