What rear rest is everyone using for load development and in the field? Thoughts on Protektor, Hunters Wedge, etc?

There are three sizes, pint sized, schmedium and regular OG. I like the OG in waxed canvas. Schmedium is a good middle ground. Protektor Flat Top Bumble Bee for load work up.

Scope is sliding in Vortex rings? Garbage rings??

A small amount of rosin in the rings may help and prevent the scope from moving.

    More Uniform neck tension?

If you want to go completely down the rabbit hole and know seating pressure exactly here is a method and tool. A number of the earlier suggestions are good cost effective methods. I use mandrels and use the standard size for most but I do use the smaller turning mandrel for magnums as I’ve found...

    6.8 Western or 300WSM

Don’t believe 6.8 Western will get wide support from the industry. It’s a great cartridge but to get the most from it loading your own is necessary IMO.

Is an ELD-M basically just a tipped berger?

I haven‘t used the 225 eldm for hunting but can attest they shoot VERY well in my 300NMI at 1K.

    New Forster Co-ax

Absolutely agree, the wider ring distributes the force when sizing. I only use Forster lock rings on sizing dies or the Whidden Click ring designed for the Co Ax

    Muzzle Brakes

Not the best look but shims can be used. Most QD mounts/brakes for suppressors use shims. They’re available in a pack with miscellaneous sizes. I’ve used SilencerCo and Silencer Shop shims and they’re OK. I’d also suggest taking a look at PiercisionRifles self timing brakes. I’m using his muscle...

supporter fiction v facts: Ruger v Tikka

I have the Tikka in 6.5 no regrets, it’s a great rifle. The things I don’t like, the very high rail without elevation. It’s b1tch to remove. Same with the stock, If you want to change the stock a thread locker/adhesive that’s same as used on the rail is used. Doesn’t seem to release with heat...

    MRAD vs MOA. Which one?

I believe you won’t be disappointed.

    MRAD vs MOA. Which one?

Possibly is in another post but thought I’d share anyway. I have a number of scopes in both MIL and MOA and find it easier for me to use MOA. It was reinforced when i attended a precision rifle course at The Site. The author and instructor is a retired SEAL with a lot of experience and his...

    School me on Suppressors?

I read through this quickly nothing wrong with direct thread or using the OEM brake. I found I wanted to change back and forth and instead of using the OEM brake I bought an Area 419 Hellfire self timing brake and then the adapter for the suppressor I use, SilencerCo Omega. I've had my...

Brass much thicker right by neck?

Are you using an expander button with sizing die? When I was only neck sizing and I wasn’t using the expander button. The same thing happed to me. Had to turn the necks, could definitely see where the brass was thicker. I went back to a Redding S die and now am after sizing the neck and bumping...

    Piston operated AR's?

Another vote for PWS, I have 3 of them. I shoot them suppressed and all of them have been VERY reliable. 2 223 wylde and 1 300 blk. The long stroke piston results in little or no bcg tilt.
