    When is Enough, Enough?

I made the mistake of getting a 30-06 (Savage 110), .22lr(cz), and a 12 gauge(Remington) early on in marriage. Each time I looked at something new, my wife would ask what it did that the others couldn't (I was never smart enough to come up with a good answer to that). I finally just bought a...

    Question for my oldest boy

There's a point where being supportive becomes enabling. Assisting with bad choices isn't my way.

    Interesting lead free bullet design/concept

The dispatcher from "The Choir Boys" comes to mind. Part of getting very old is that the movie and book references become increasingly obscure.

    Dream hunt animal

The coastal browns as in Kodiak, are far from tasty. They are however, huge. They get fat on fish and meat so like most predators the fat can be pretty rank. Most of those hunts are for trophy hides, taking just as much meat as required to avoid "wanton waste". Few enjoy eating it. Far more...

    What constitutes “long range hunting”?

True, but then again I have never __Needed__ to shoot a groundhog or prairie dog with more than a .22 or from more than a hundred feet. Most hunting can be done at sticks feathers and string distances. Justified confidence in skill, knowledge of game, is what makes LRH ethical.

    Smokeless Muzzleloaders

    Smokeless Muzzleloader

It goes against the spirit of a ML season. There will always be those who go against the concept and seek to find ways to gain an advantage and those who will seek to return regulations to their intended purpose. Fight all you like over the idea. A superduper shotgun that could stay .25 MOA...

What guns would you like to see in a gun raffle?

For my area it pays to reach out to the local gunsmiths. Not to seek a discount, make that clear up front, but to support local business, and perhaps get some of their best work, at least the kind of work that they are most proud of. We have some great smiths around the country. I've been in a...

    Question for Lefties

There is nothing more encouraging to a left handed youth than getting a few things that cater to their needs. Left-handed scissors! Rifle, knife (left-handed serrations are rare and lovely). We all learn to use right-handed tools out of necessity, and shooting is no different, but having a...

New guy here as well as reloading!

Welcome aboard. I mostly lurk about and read the advise from others. I built a takedown switch barrel in 25-06 ai, 30-06 ai, and 338-06ai with tie plan to get into reloading . Circumstances conspired against my hobby and it's a gun safe queen for now. I feel your pain!
