I may have to continue to search for a load. This was the best load I had found thus far( only two depths). Ill try running it in 10 thou more and see where that gets me. I should be able to load this brass again?
Its a shiny spot coming from the ejector opening. Its the first loading on this brass. Im not getting heavy bolt lift either. I will try to post pics.
Another thing I noticed was that it seems like the brass is being shaved a very small amount on the neck from the sizing die. It leaves a...
Im loading a 6.5 x 284 Savage 111 lrh. A 215 primer Retumbo(58.5 grains max load from Berger) powder and lapua brass. Im getting a ring of shiny brass on the head stamp. Im not seeing a sticky bolt lift. What could be causing this?
I bought one not to long ago. 6.5 x 284. It shot the Norma ammo alright. I have dialed in a handload that shot a 3 shot group under half moa(close to. 4). Berger 140 VLD. I was between a Sendero and this. Cost was the deciding factor.

I think what they are trying to tell you is the numbers you are punching for the 264 are too low. A 140 at 3200 is better than a 140 at 2800, right? I believe the 260 has its place and is a dandy cartridge out to 5-600 yards on medium sized game and down. The extra velocity with the...
I just got the rest of my supplies for loading this round. I'm going to go with 215's and Retumbo. I hear over 3k is possible with this load but id settle for just shy if accuracy is there. I know not much help but I'm pretty new to reloading all together.
You could look into a Savage 111 LRH or if you don't want the MB and cheekpiece the 116. Savage builds some pretty awesome guns. I have also heard the Tikka is a pretty good shooter.
I just started with my LRH and I'm hoping to use Retumbo with a 215 primer. Many guys on here are very knowledgeable with this round. Try the google search function in the top right of the page.
The 243 is sufficient enough on smaller game to take to 500 meters. It seems like you have a bunch of experience with it so why not stick with it? Put on a quality piece of glass with a BDC type reticle or target turrets and keep shooting. If you start getting into shooting larger animals at...
