Keep in mind that this isn't for spot and stalk and definitely not for mountain hunts. This baby gets carried to the blind or stand only. At 21.4 lbs I would need a cart to carry this long distances. My back and knees aren't what they used to be. The Pelican case with wheels definitely helps...
+1 for Doc88. That is the exact method I used to determine height with my ARC rings and turned out great. I don't use carbon barrels on any of my rifles so I can't speak to the height recommended there.
I don't care either way, but if you are asking for help or trying to explain something pics always help. As far as hunting pics, we all spend so much on our rifles why not show them off and be proud.
Those look pretty nice and the price isn't that bad either; a good bit more than the Harrell's if you have a budget though. The Super Beast II would have fit my bill. I might consider them for my next build.
I love mine. Due to having a 1.25" diameter barrel I had trouble finding a brake to fit. I called for info and spoke with a real person. I was going to go with the 4-port tactical but due to my barrel diam. they recommended I go with the 1 1/2" radial and have my smith turn it down. Tamed...
I agree with Outlaw6.0. I have ARC rings on my 7mmRM and love them. The clam shell design with only one screw really helps to quickly align the scope as well and not have it go out of alignment when you tighten the screws.
I am intrigued by the AndiScan micro A2 as well. I have a MagnetoSpeed V3 and just hobbled together some rings, a riser and rails to make myself an off barrel mounting system. Haven't tried it out yet, but has to be better than the group results that I got strapping it to the barrel.
