243 is my choice. Good for average size deer down to coyotes. Shoot 500 yds no problem. If you load your own ammo , you can pick and choose what you want to shoot with the 243.

I am have a difficult time in finding the lands using Hornady AOL gauge. I have done very well on all my other rifles in finding the lands of my rem 243, 308 , ar223, and 6mm. They all feel like there is almost a hard stop when the ogive of the bullet touch the lands. But this RPR doesn't give...

It is hard to believe that any group can buy out so many suppliers of ammo. I checked at least 10 of my most common supplies I buy from and I'm not kidding, I see the shelves are bare.

I have looked at a lot of suppliers today and see that all of them are out of 95% of their 223 ammo supplies. Anyone know what's up with that ?

Yes I agree with you on your procedure, I am doing it the very same way. The rifle is new. Maybe 20 rounds of Hornady 147 ELD-M to site the scope. So I don't think it is fire cracking. And I have looked with a bore scope to see why it is different feel at the lands than my other 5 rifles...

I am pushing the bullet into the case pretty far in. Slightly tighting the set screw. Guide the rod into the chamber, making sure that the case is up against the chamber by letting it tap, tap, against the throat wall. Then losen the screw and push the bullet into the throat. Trying to feel...

Thanks guys, but my question is more directed to the RPR. The guage I think is ok. It is the feel of the bullet entering the chamber throat. Its a different feel than my other bold guns. It is not a positive feel like I get on my Remingtons.

Doing loads for my ruger RPR and I am not liking the way it feels using the Hornady OAL guage. I can not really feel when I hit the lans. And the Hornady OAL tool is difficult to use in this gun. Is anyone else having problems getting good measurement? .
