if the barrel is getting hot slow down, can you shoot better groups with other guns? try putting it on a lead slead. my 300 RUM will shoot sub moa with every thing i try retumbo with 200gr accubonds or 210 smk's all the way down to 150gr ballistic tips. at first it didn't shoot very good, then...

When I was 14 before my first real hunting trip my dad would (load) my gun when we would shoot, so I would flinch when there wasn't a round in the chamber they could all laugh. I only flinched once. The humiliation was a great teaching aid.

I just read that laser sights and dry firing are a great way to practice trigger control. just watch the laser while you dryfire. sounds like a good idea.

like i said if you want to shoot animals with bullets that the manufacture says not to feel free, I won't. I have had bad luck trying that and I won't do it again.

so I ran some numbers on the 338 lapua with the Rocky Mountain bullets 300gr bullet, it has an effective range at 6,000 ft and 2800fps of around 2200 yards. That is assuming these bullets correctly advertised BC (.979) sounds pretty high, but you never know.

I read somewhere a while back that Lost River (when they where still around) was making the bullets for cheyTac, and they had a mono metal turned bullet called the j35 hunting bullet. But they are nowhere to be found anymore.

match bullets aren't designed to expand like hunting bullets they are designed for shooting match. If you want to shoot elk with SMKs feel free, I like bullets that were intended for killing animals not paper. here is Sierras response to this ridiculous idea...

the numbers are based on big game and hunting bullets not people and match bullets the reason the 300 RUM out performs the 338 lapua is because the 210gr vld has a .635 BC and the 250gr accubond has a .575 BC if you use the 300gr match king the 338 lapua will out perform the 300 RUM it just...
