I'm prepping for a Alaskan moose and grizzly hunt. Has anyone tried the 30 cal 220 ELD-X bullet on either critter? I have a good supply of the bullet but no experience on anyrthing bigger than a elk. The muzzle velocity on my rifle with the 220 is 2850. Thanks!

My AIAX likes Bertram brass, 84 gr of H1000 with the 225 ELD-M. My 20" 300 NM hunting rifle did too. 20 thou of the lands, cci 250 magnum primers. 84 gr is close to max.

Hmmm. Don't tell that to the elk, whitetail, coyotes and wolf I shot this year... I know where you coming from though. FFP scopes reticles get too fine to see at low mag.. just switch on the illuminated reticle and you have a easy to see Red Cross for fast, close work.

Using Norma brass, I have found that three firings is all you should count on before loose primers and fatigued brass issues set in (higher SD numbers). No free lunch with this one!
