I saw a couple photos online where some guy built something similar but used a 6' long plastic 2' diameter corrugated culvert tube. He had a wood endcap with a 1' diameter hole and lined it all with egg crate foam. He said it worked pretty well.

Very interesting. I emailed Weaver and they said the T-25 was introduced in 1979. While I don't have any photos of the rifle prior to that date, I could've sworn that this was the same scope on the rifle when I used to shoot it in the mid 70's.
