Twist rate & magazine length in a tikka limit you with a full size magnum cartridge & heavy for caliber bullets to reach their full benefit. If your gonna rebarrel & want to stay with a .284 then one of the short mag cartridges & a 180 seated out long with the HCA magazine is a perfect marriage...
Of your choices using factory ammo I would keep the tikka 7 mag, have it bedded into a new cf stock from Mesa or AG( both made by AG) and shoot with confidence over spending more money playing Kimber roulette.
If you were inclined to handload or someone handload for ya, I would take that Tikka...
I agree with this statement 100%. This debate is much like a room full of guys talkin about who makes the best pickup.
For the record I’m buying a HCA barrel & having a rifle built there on a tikka action soon so there’s no doubt they have to be the best!:D
That’s what I’m talkin bout right there! I know a couple guys that have rifles built at HCA & they shoot really well. I’m confident mine will be a tackdriver as well.
