    Another Flux Capasitor barn find

Never peed on one. But I distinctly remember, as a 2 year old (65 years ago), straddling the fence charger wire that was set up to keep the chickens in the chicken house yard. Did I mention it was straight charge, no pulse.....

    Another Flux Capasitor barn find

My vote would be that it's a homemade electric fence testing unit. The fence chargers I remember from the late 50s on my Grandfathers farm were straight charge (not pulsing) and they'd knock the **** out of you if you were foolish enough to touch or grab it.

You ain't ever seen a 303 British like this before...

According to an "old timer" that I knew, another "secret" of getting accuracy from an Enfield was to stay with the 170gr+ flat based bullets. He said the mid weight boat tail bullets, that are so common now, would keyhole in alot of the old military guns. True enough, as I found out, Federal...

    Cowboy logic

I got a free bag of 31 rds of 7mmTCU ammo. At last count........, that "free" ammo led to the purchase of a TC Contender in 7mmTCU, another in 7-30 Waters, reloading "dies & stuff" for the aforementioned, several pistol scopes, a couple of .22LR barrels, and several sets of TC stock furniture...

    New season opens in Mississippi

I used to have to buy Winchester .22 Rat Shot cartridges for my 90yo Father-In Law. His weapon of choice was a Bunt-Line (9"...?) Ruger Single Six. He'd wing shoot them and make it look easy. I hear the Bug-A-Salt guns work well for the Carpenter Bees too.

    Bear protection handguns?

Like most here; I own representatives of most pistols & rifle designs, semi-auto, double-action, single-action, bolt, lever-action, single shot, etc. My occupational work guns are semi-auto pistols & rifles. My farming & outdoor guns are mostly single-action and bolt action. The handguns are...

    Locks for your gun safe

I had to clean the wheels/inerds of my lock when having similar issues. I sprayed the lock work with a lightweight penetrating/cleaning type oil to clean out the aged & dried oil residue from when it was new. I let that penetrate & clean overnight, did the same again, & buttoned it up. Never...

    brass annealing machine

If you want a fairly inexpensive, but uniform, annealing method: look at the Ballistic Recreations method () for a way to do it. The small Lee lead electric pot used in that process can be found for around $39-$60 (depending on how well you shop). I got mine for $39 and shipping at...

WOW- USPS priority mail is MESSED UP !!!!!!

I sent a payment in a regular letter to the Midwest in November. It took over 15 days to get there from N. Florida. I thought that was an anomaly. Then I mailed another check by regular letter on 12/15 and it did not get to MO (12-13 hrs drive time) until 01/17 (33days later). I sympathize...

Scratching my head.... SET ME STRAIGHT

I cringe every time I hear about cleaning a barrel with a bore snake. I think about all those old military rifles with grooves worn in the muzzle at 6 & 12 o’clock.

7.62x39 bolt and single shot rifle recommendations.

OK, I had a well intended comments but with an iPad and an opportunity I‘ve graduated to an idiot. Sorry for the extra attempts at posting. I have a Howa 1500 Mini in 7.62x39 glass bedded in a Boyd’s stock. It is joyfully accurate, about 1/2” moa within the limits of the cartridge. It’s not...

Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel- what is wrong?

I sounds like you’ve hit most of the common “fixes” already. Swap the scope. If it will hit paper, shoot it at 50yards (to cut down on your variables) for several 3rd groups, giving it a little time to cool between groups, without changing your NightForce’s settings. Doing that, you...

    Barrel cleaning and settling down...

Be careful using the Hoppes Elite cleaning products. And I say that as a lifelong Hoppes #9 user. Hoppes Elite cleaners seem to react with gun oils and together turn to gum.
