Thanks for the great advice!!!! I should have told you the rest of the story from the beginning. I am looking into getting a 308 in a heavy barrel. I think that I am down to 3 choices (1)Win Stealth has 12" twist(2)Win Stealth II has 10" twist (3)Rem 700 VS has 12" twist. All have a 26"...

What would be the better rate of twist for a long range 308 win 168gr bullet? 10 or 12? Thank you!!

Anyone have any experiance with these scopes?

Will a 7mm Rem Mag be Good on Whitetail deer out to 800 yards in bean field hunting. Thinking of having a gun built and I am a little scared the recoil of the newer mags will mess up my accuracy. Most of the deer will be shot from 200-500 yards.

I am looking at the law enforcement models. The 10x56 and the 4-14x50 both have a 30mm tube with mildot. I saw them at a local gun shop, good price. Thank you for your comment

Thanks for all the great help. I will continue to think on this one a little longer. But for the time being Gun season starts tomorrow here in my part of Georgia. I will be there with my 25-06 Sendero. I have already killed deer out to 445 yards with it and plan to do better this year...

I like the looks of the Savage 12BVSS in 300 wsm. The gun weighs 10 pounds I like that too. I have shot groups with a Sendero 300wm and the recoil did not bother me. Do you think the 10 pound 300wsm would give me any trouble. Thank you for all the help. Feel free to continue.

I hunt about 1 hour and 15 mins north of Savannah in Screven County Ga. We have Soybeans fields and Gas lines and alot of other crop lands. I could probibily Shoot over 1000 yards. But not ready for that yet. Will be one day. Thank you.
