    Any thoughts for tikka pistol

Once a rifle, always a rifle per the AFT. Unless you can buy just a tikka action, you're outa luck. You can always stamp it as an SBR though.

NON-TYPICAL rifle build in mind; need some help...

Killed an elk in 2019 at 760 with a 20" 6.5 creedmoor. Single round rolled it down the mountain. Any of these will perform as well as you can shoot. If your impact velocity is in the range needed for your bullet to perform, then your shooting ability is the only limiting factor. Any 6.5...

NON-TYPICAL rifle build in mind; need some help...

My 20" 6.5 SAUM runs 135 Atips well over 3050 without pressure and good brass life. If you're already set up for PRC id just build a shorter PRC. A hundred or hundred fifty FPS isn't that big of a deal, and not having to buy another set of dies, brass, or other components is a bonus as well...

Dropped rifle and change in zero

What base, what rings, what action, what stock, action bedded? It may be the scope, but it may be other things. If I had that happen I'd be hunting with another gun till I figured it out.

    308 win hunting bullets

I recently filled a doe tag with my truck gun which is a 308. I used my normal truck gun ammo which is the Mk319 mod O, 130gr SOST round. It bang-flopped her like nothing at 75 yards. Small entrance and soup inside, with about an inch and a half exit. I'd say it performed perfectly. And...

What is the best hunting bullet 140 grain or heavier you used in your 6.5 caliber rifle

The 135 ATIP is my go to 6.5 bullet now. Seems to hold together a little better than the 143 and they are shooting lights out for me. Had one pass through both shoulders of an elk at 760 yards and leave a half dollar size exit. Killed two deer this year as well. I have nothing negative to say...

Made in the USA important to you?

For me, quality trumps most everything else. I look at where a product is made quite often before I buy it. That said, I'd buy a product from overseas before I bought products made in certain places in the US if I have a choice. Japan beats California, Illinois, and most east coast big cities...

    Hells Canyon vs PROOF

I have a few proof barrels and they have been great. That said, Mike is a great guy and his stuff is top notch. In not hesitate to buy a barrel or have a build done by him. Either barrel is the right answer. Proof is a huge supporter of the shooting sports and has certs on prize tables at...

ADG vs Peterson vs Lapua Brass

Wet testing is taking a loaded round and dipping it or spraying it with water before chambering it and firing it. The water fills the gaps in the chamber so the case can't grow to fill them in and increases your pressure. It's best to test this way before you take ammo to a hunt or match that...

Tikka 28 nosler Christensen arms barrel

How does the 28 Nosler do in the short magazine length of the Tikka? I've contemplated the round but I figured it would be too long to make the most of in a Tikka?

    Hunting/LR completion rifle

If you're only hunting to 600 yards I'd not mess with the PRC. The PRC will have too much recoil for PRS matches in a hunting weight rifle and the CM will do just fine on elk at 600 yards. In your shoes I'd buy a Bergara HMR in 6.5 Creed. With RL26 you should be able to get a 140 to 2850-2900...

ADG vs Peterson vs Lapua Brass

If you're loosing primer pockets in 3-4 firings with Lapua brass you're beyond safe pressures. I'd be willing to bet that if you tried a wet test you'd lock up the bolt and/or pierce a primer. Over time you're going to wear or gall your bolt lugs with a load like that. I always wet test my...

300 WM. Crimp or not to crimp?

I've been using Norma in my 300WM for a few years. I hate the soft case heads but until recently there haven't been any better options. I'll be buying ADG to try after this hunting season. I prefer something with a harder case head like Lapua or Alpha brass in other calibers.
