Exactly. Lost a nice mule deer, second shot, after zoomed way up to 25. Once he started moving and after recoil I lost him. Lesson learned.

Made the same error two years ago lost a chance on a cow elk. Now I always have lowest mag and zoom if needed

6.5 or 7mm RM is about perfect. 7rm if loaded properly is fine against Griz. Also they are not huge either. Not like a Brown but yes...

Take a good old 300 win mag. It will take care of everything just fine......you'd be surprised how many grizz are killed with a 300...
