+1 The 4831SC has worked well for me too out of my 7saum. Getting 2920mv @ 55 degrees with low ES and SD. Shooting the 180's at 1.997" at 500 now with virgin brass at that... Oh and barrel is 26" Rock with a brake. and 8.75 twist.

I will be sure to give these a try. Not sure on the twist though as I have a 8.75 twist Rock on my long action 7saum. I am shooting the 180's between 1/3 and 1/2 moa to 600 now and just haven't gotten to 1000 yet. Info looks positive.

Alex Roy on Euro Optic has a good selection. I just picked up a 5.5-22X56 with highspeed turrets for $1525 It was in the used and demo section. There are others as well. Mine has never seen a scope ring. I will buy from Alex again.

Guys I need help on this one... I have already found in the load dev. stage that my COAL is to long to be mag fed. Is there a bottom metal and mag change out there for a savage that can gain me some room? Do not have exact COAL yet, still playing with seating depth, but I am already too long.

Thanks guys! It was done by a good smith, I am just not sure it's the brake for me. Not too much reduction in recoil but fairly quiet in respect to brakes. Time will tell, I was just curious what I would get into if I did want to go another way...

Hope it works better for you MachV. My buddies ended up with two that they really like as far as the gps goes.

What is a fair price for one of these units that looks like it's in great condition and a year old? Retail is just over $300

How hard is it to replace a brake that has to be timed? Recon the smithing cost would increase a lot?
