    38 special hand loads

Being old school I use Bullseye only. 3.0 grains for my S&W Model 52 and 3.5 grains for my Model 19-3 S&W. I never found anything better.

    powder age

I just reloaded 250 rounds of 38 specials with 50 year old Hercules Bullseye for my closet queen, a Smith and Wesson model 52, I used 2.7 grains under a 148 grain BBWC. Primers were Smith and Wesson SPP. They were old also, Not one malfunction with either the bullet or gun. It depends on how...

    Advice on next rifle purchase

Real easy question: A Remington 700 in 30-06. There is a mountain of history on this caliber and a 30-06 still, as of today, makes up the bulk of all rifle sales. The 30-06 will kill everything and anything in North America, because bullet selection is so good! You would be so lucky if you could...

    257 Weatherby help

IMR 4350 is junk powder! It will make you sterile, cause your testicles to fall off and make you want to have purple hair and a man bun. You should ship me that powder for disposal.

Your states minimum caliber for big game?

In Massachusetts .24 or larger for Bear...Deer is shotgun only so slugs or buckshot . We also have a muzzleloading season and front loader has to be .44 or greater.

Best 20 gauge Semi-Auto for son

Browning A-5 Lt 20.....best shotgun ever made. My second choice is a Remington 1100 (notice I said 1100) LT 20 . Shop gun shows get a steel not Aluminum receiver.

    Brown bear Rifle

A 300 WM is enough gun, but as others have said check with your guide. I would rethink Noslers and start thinking about 220 grain Woodleigh Weldcore. I know bullets are scarce as hens teeth. Two big problems Alaskan guides have are out of shape fat slobs and those that can not shoot their gun...

    45/70 for large bear... ammo?

Using a 45/70 for large(?) bear would be ok for a very experienced guide and a **** good shot. When fishing Alaska I would always have my 30-06 loaded up with 220 grain Woodleigh Weldcore bullets. As I aged I started bringing my Remington 6oo in 350 magnum with 250 grain bullets. I was lucky...

For all you 30-06 owners, what bullet are you using?

My favorite is 165 grain "Core-lokt" on top of Varget now but IMR 4350 for years. When I used to go to Alaska, same gun but Woodleigh 220 grain "weldcore" with IMR 4350. I have shot so many different bullets bullets out of my 1964 700 BDL including patched #1 buckshot for squirrels.

    6mm Remington Ammo

I agree 100% with the single stage press. I started with one and I will end with one. Hunting bullets need craftsmanship that a good RCBS single stage press will deliver. Not a fan of digital scales either.
