The progressives that I have don't go quite edge to edge at the bottom of the lens. The focal area of mine is like a Hershey kiss shape. It's very narrow in the top center and mushrooms out to the bottom of each corner, like a Hershey Kiss shape.
My only reason for going with progressive lenses was to get rid of lines in the glass. Can you have modern bi-trifocals without the lines? And, yes I'm 47 :)
