Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS

I started this thread to talk about the Model 70 EW. If you dont want to talk about that gun or shooting it then take your ****ing match elsewhere!! If you want to have an one-on-one battle do it over PM so the rest of us dont have to be tainted by your BS!

    One powder, multiple calibers?

If I had to pick just one-H4350. It may not be the fastest but its very temp stable and i have found it to work well(accuracy) in multiple calibers.

    Winchester Model 70 XTR

I agree! If it shoots good who cares. Most die hard Winchester fans only go for the CRF actions so the value of those tends to be higher but that doesnt mean the push feed is a bad gun. Let us know how it shoots?

Why doesn't Remington make Titanium actions anymore?

I am currious about that as well. 4 years ago i just about bought a M700 TI in 300wsm. I wish I would have now just for the investment.

    First Time Reloader

This may be a hard question to answer but do you see yourself making this into a long term hobby? Or something you just want to try out, maybe load a couple of boxes before hunting season and call it good. Either way is just fine but know which way to go could deffinetly get you the most bang...

    300 wsm

You will get every quality bullet as an answer on this one. My answer is the Accubond. I like it for long range and the Barnes for stuff inside 500yds.

    300wsm primers

I just ran a primer test with my 300WSM. The gun is a Win M70 Extreme weather, 24" barrel. Powder is H4350 at 63.9 grs. The best for me was the Winchester Magnum primer. Ii did not shoot over a chrono. I will attach my target results. Keep the thread posted if you do any testing as well. I...

Does 20 year old brass need to be annealed?

I have some experience with older brass like that. I use older stuff all the time. I would say that you do not NEED to anneal it. That being said I would probably do it just to give it a fresh start in your loading process. Maybe you dont know the history of the brass either which would be more...

    High Altitude Hunting

Varmit, Here is a great little article on what I had said in my previous post about staying hydrated. Granted your not climbing Everest but much of it still applies. A little cure-it-all - climbers guide to Everest Enjoy and have a great hunt!

    High Altitude Hunting

Like Top-Gun said, do some cardio. Get in good shape. That doesnt mean you need to be Carl Lewis but start and stay on a good work out regiment until you leave for your hunt. When you get up at those high elevations often times it is much drier. So it is extremely important that you stay...

    I need a load for a 168 grain Berger VLD for a 300 WSM

I have also been working good OCW load with H4350. Right now I am looking at 63.9 grs of H4350 with Win LRM primers. That is behind a 168gr Barnes TSX. It put 5 shots inside 3/4 of an inch.
