I have a HMR pro in the 6.5 creed as well. When I first got it I bought two boxes of lapua small primers brass. I loaded up some CCI 450’s. Two out of 10 would not fire and some would hang fire. A few of the unfired would fire on the second try. I loaded up some fed 205 and problem solved. CCI’s...
I've got a Christensen Ridgeline in the 300 PRC. I've been shooting the 212 eld-x for the last year or so trying to make them fly the best they can. I've used R-26, Imr-8133, Retumbo and H-1000. I've got about 300 rounds through it now and H-1000 is my winner. I've been able to get .5 groups...
150 ABLR is a different bullet with a different bearing surface and sectional density than those listed. I also am using CCI 250’s and loading them close to 3.00 coal. Reloading manuals are a solid guide not a biblical revelation as to what will happen in your rifle and components.
I’m 100% sure you will improve your groups with hand loads. Just keep everything you do to your brass consistent. Adjust only one variable at a time and you are on the path. Yea, the model 70 featherweight is a good looking rifle. I dig the curled forend on the stock.
Don't sell a factory gun short my friend. Winchesters are good rifles. I've got 7 factory rifles I load for. I have gotten every one of them to shoot .5 moa or better. I've had to bed a few of them or switch stocks but all in all, I will make them shoot. It takes some time on some guns and I may...
Sure thing! Have fun but like sedancowboy said... be careful. 67 gr. is in the ballpark of a hot load. I know my gun and how it handles pressure. I have blown a primer or two before. Work up slowly and know how to read the pressure signs on your brass and hard bolt lift. One thing I do regularly...
I started a test run with the 150ablr with R-26 around Christmas. I have a Rem 700 BDL/ SPS - JLock with a 24-inch factory barrel. My go-to load is 140 Accubonds with 67.2 gr of R26. I'm getting 3320 fps with that load and solid accuracy.
Here are my findings with 150 ABLR:
270 WSM
3x fired...
I’m running close to 67.5 gr R-26 in a rem sa. Hornady brass at that load is a little iffy. Gun shoots like a dream but my pockets are getting a little loose. I dropped it back to 67.2 and still preformed well. CCI 250 primers. My backup is imr7977 and it’s about 100 fps slower. R26 flat out...
Groups are getting tighter for sure. I too am interested in your velocity and round count. I started noticing my groups getting smaller after about 50 rounds with mine. Your on the right track!!
Looking good! Yeah, two of my three Kimber’s needed a little grinding on the mag boxes. A few also needed a little stock work to float them better. You will get that gun singing in no time! I wouldn’t sell mine for 4K.
I’d love to see a velocity ladder on those 120 HH. I’ve got a Caldwell chronograph with a bipod that I haven’t used in awhile. I’d certainly let you borrow it if you’re interested. PM me your address and I will ship it out.
