3-9X40 Leupold VX-2. Mine is lite weight, strong (took a nasty spill and shaves some aluminum off the eye piece and nothing happened to the scope), and super clear at all reasonable hunting times. Depending on your budget you can move up into some of the better Leupolds but for the money its a...
I think the Ruger American's are nicer than the Savage Axis. They are both entry level rifles and i thought the American was better designed and felt more solid. both shoot well but i liked the Ruger more
I could see that, my wife doesn't shoot past 200 yards and it fits her like a glove, cant argue with meet in the freezer. its also killed more elk than I could ever count from when her grandpa used it.
Awesome! the gun shoots great as is easily, sub moa at 100 yards and we where hitting a phone book every time at 300 yards last spring. Definitely gonna be tuning a load for it this spring so we will have to see what the rifle can really do.
Are you telling me Santa isn't real either?!?! I really just want to save the wood stock I have on it and maybe refinish it someday when I pass it on to one of the kids. I also want it to be different from the many other Rugers we have floating around in camp.. thanks for your comments.
I'm thinking about the prairie hunter. This gun wont be a true long range rifle for game. this is going to be more of a carry in the woods gun. I was thinking the pro varmint for a Remington 788 I have but that's for another discussion. also with the boyds should I definitely upgrade and get the...
I'm at a bit of a cross roads with my current hunting rifle. I have a Ruger M77 Mark II in 270 win. I'm really looking to swap out the stock as i want to preserve the wood on it and hunting isn't always good for that. I know i have a few options not as many as say if it where a remington 700. I...
I assume you meant less than 10lbs. get either a 30-06 or 270 win... both are capable and you can find ammo anywhere... I can go into the ranch store here in Montana and take my pick of 270 or 06. ruger makes a nice rifle, no aftermarket though, mine is under 10lbs with a bipod. I like...
I have one purely for wet field conditions. Not as my main form of cleaning but as a quick way to get moisture out if its raining. Seems to work well for my intended use.
