    16.5” 308

Fellas, it’s been a while since I’ve been on, but I’m looking for some advice. I have a Ruger Precision 308, 1:10 twist cut down to 16.5” w/ a 9” TX Silencer Co suppressor. The only reason I had it cut down was so it would fit in and around the truck better. I am set to attend a LEO SWAT...

Is the 243 the best whitetail deer cartridge?

The 243 is definitely a well rounded cartridge. My family has been shooting 243’s for generations. My grandfather dropped bull elk with is Winchester 88 in 243. I my self have taken hogs and whitetail with no issues, however, in 2001 I was in west Texas hunting whitetail with that same...

    Berger bullets and bone

I have been hunting with Berger for about 15 years. Yes the are very destructive. Smaller game, such as deer and sheep, I’ve learned to wait till the animal looks my way and send it right below the jaw. Takes out the CNS with ease. For those trophy hunters that are after shoulder mounts, just...

Ah, gotcha. That makes since. Like I said before, I’m brand new to this. This is the first and only forum I’ve participated in. Thank you, Sir.

I’m not too savvy with PM. What would you charge for the once fired hornady?

Yes, slightly. The powder is up in the neck

    6.5-284 & IMR 4831

Well fellas, I went ahead and worked up a few loads with the Ramshot LRT. 26” bbl, 1:8 twist, Lapua brass, CCI large rifle primers, 140g Berger VLD, 3.065 COAL. I’m fairly happy with the results.

    6.5-284 & IMR 4831

I’ve done more digging and found some Ramshot LRT at a local gun shop. It has similar burn rate as Retumbo, RL26 & N570. Since I can’t find anything else, I figured this wouldn’t be a bad deal. Check it out.

Thanks, I’ll look into the software. I just wish I could find H4831, it’s like digging for gold.

Thank y’all, I greatly appreciate it. I’ll get to work. And thanks for the welcoming. This is honestly the first forum I’ve ever been a part of.

    6.5-284 & IMR 4831

I’m sure this has been touched on, but I can’t seem to find any info addressing this question. I have a 6.5-284, 24” 1-8 twist, running Berger 140 vld with 52g of Hodgdon 4831, getting around 3k fps. Unfortunately I’m having a very very hard time getting any more H4831. Like everyone else I’m...
