Any Base Maps Gurus well versed in remote marker capability?

I have the same problem and it’s about 15degree off all times. Phone looks pretty accurate compared to the old needle compass

Bino Harness Selection (AGC, Kuiu, Badlands, Marsupial)

I like the badlands for the magnetic closure system. After switching to rangefinding binoculars I like less stuff in front to get tangled up. It worked for having both a rangefinder and Binos but much less clunky without both. Not having buckles to make noise against the stock or to click in...

How much did you spend on equipment (not supplies) to reload?

Powder Scale and dispenser Powdered trimmer and chamfer for bulk loads Annealer Press Manual trimmer Case prep station Powder measures for bulk loads Tumbler (dry) Tumbler (wet) That covers everything not caliber related (dies) So probably conservatively $1500?

    Thermal scope recommendations

Clip on suck. Way too much fussing about. Factory support is what made me choose pulsar over Flir originally. It paid off I snapped the shutter cover on my Rxq30 and within a week they sent me a new cover free of charge. The horro stories of Flir and ATN ghosting people was enough for me...

    Harbor Freight Tumbler

It works. My suggestion is to get one of the major reloading brands while it’s on sale. My venture in this was that it performed adequately but size of batches and it being finicky and binding randomly until I noticed the burnt rubber smell of the rollers. Now that I’ve used the full size wet...

Reloading - Is it still really worth it?

For me it was never about cost. It’s about tuning a round for a rifle. It is amazing and frustrating how you can get a rifle to shoot better, but oh so satisfying once you dial it in. Once you take out all the sink cost of toys for the hobby you can still produce higher quality ammo for less...

    338 supressors

I have Havestor big bore on my 338. It is silly quite. more so that my omega on my .338 or A Regular harvester on a 6.5G. Could be the Long barrel is burning up the powder but it makes a higher pitch squeak and all but eliminates the concussion the brake produce.

    257 Weatherby Bullet Options

115gr Nosler ballistic tips (combined tech type). Have had absolutely critical damage to everything shot with them. Deer and pigs it absolutely vaporizes the internals while providing an exit wound.

    Kuiu jacket and pant sizes

Their fitting guide was pretty spot on for me. I wear a large in almost everything, but it suggested a XL. Everything of it fits well on the hybrid I just bought. Sleeves are probably a 1/2 in longer than I would prefer, but other than that fit is good.

    Varmint trigger for a AR-15

For the triggers I suggested that is total trigger weight of both stages. Most are 2-2.5 for second stage. For me it isn’t so much the weight as it is a good clean break. I want a little more weight if I’m shooting with gloves.

    Varmint trigger for a AR-15

I guess, when I need speed I want a single stage so I don't have the extra take up and travel to screw up when I'm not thinking. When I shoot further out, I feel like I am less rushed and go through the mechanics better, like full take up of the first stage and then break the second. Also, I'm...

    Varmint trigger for a AR-15

Sounds like you want a good 2-stage with a light/predictable second stage break. I'd suggest the SSA-E, or the Larue MBT. For me I like the SSA-E's trigger face, the MBT seems to have a harder, but no-creep break. I don't think you could go wrong with either and some practice.

Things you wished you knew when you started?

I wish I would have known about testing for pressure and speed, then groups, and just dealing with the sd that results. I'm not sure how many dollars I wasted shooting 3-5 shot ladder groups with a magneto speed wrapped on the barrel looking for pressure signs or wondering if there was another...

Why do muzzle brakes all have bad names?

You know how I know you haven’t shot next to an aggressive load and brake before. Those names are appropriate some even need to be made MORE aggressive.
