Made this cheek piece which can be used left or right handed, the advantage over shop bought one's is that you can set the comb so the eye is aligned with the centre of the scope, made from a piece of conveyer belt using a craft knife, the shop bought one is top right/bottom left
I hunt the tops in New Zealand after Thar,long range shooting normally angled shots,unable to pick up weather stations,I use the 1600B coupled with a Kestrel 4500 with the Horus ATRAG Ballistic Calculator, this set up enables me to shoot out to 800 metres.

I'm another one for the Leupold Varmint reticle, I have a VX3 6.5-20x40 on a tikka tactical 308 it allows me to shoot out to 500mtrs using the hold-over marks it's so easy to use in the field.
I use a pair leica 15x56 range finding binoculars to hunt the tops on New Zealand's west coast to hunt Thar it is far easier on the eyes, beats a spotting scope.
When shooting at high altitude 2000metres plus the 300gs far out performs the 250gs with the multiple cross winds and the wind shear coming off the faces the 300gs just buck the wind far better.
I was not going to pay the $85 for a piece of plastic, so a made one out of a plastic chopping board, just milled four slots using a hand router and used a hot air gun to bend it over a piece of tube the same width as stock, two 5mm coach screws wing nuts job done.
