I do have a friend with deer hunt property but he won't let me shoot other times cause he thinks Bambi will get scared. Maybe I'll just glue dimes on targets and shoot slow cowboy loads on high windy days at a 100yd range.
Sorry but property developers have shut down the rifle range (all distances) at BotWest. The only long range availaible in central Texas is very exclusive and very expensive. I'm very envious of the shooters out West (except Left coast) for all the open land to shoot. Almost all land in Texas...
I'm an old dog but new to long range. Learning new I find mil-mil much easier than calculating fractions. Maybe because I'm a an engineer and metric calc's without awkward coversions.
10X is superior to 25-30X in almost every long range condition. Light level, sun angle, mirage and parallax adjustment only complicate getting accurate hits.
I wouldn't trade my SWFA 10X42 for any zoom optic.
