haven't tried em myself but Berger's got loaded ammo out now, Berger 185 Classic Hunter. I ran at least six different brands through a 300WM Tikka T3x and settled on the 200gr ELD-X, it's what the Tikka liked. My 7RM stainless Tikka likes the Barnes and my 7RM T3 Hunter likes Hornady.

i don't believe it's been discontinued. they replaced the A-Max with the ELD-X. Black Hills just hasn't shipped any recently. i work for an online retailer of ammo, we have this on order and Black Hills hasn't told me I'm not getting any!

it would take a LOT of passes with a bore snake to get a barrel "clean" to a degree where most of us would call it clean. i have bore snakes for all of my calibers, but it's more for convenience sake if i'm firing a lot of rounds and need to get a layer of crud out of the barrel. when guns need...

I'm running 73.2 gr H1000 with 168 gr. Berger Hunting VLDs. 3020 fps from my 7mm T3. I was afraid I wouldn't get good precision because magazine length is a few miles from the lands. My fears were unfounded. RL26 gave me great velocity but there would inevitably be a flyer or two in a five shot...

I have a flatbed trailer (wandertec bongo) that I often use if there are decent roads for me to ride in/out on. Throw a large rubbermade tote on it, panniers on the bike, a rack for my rifle on the handle bars and I can carry way too much gear in, and a whole deer out. Late season can be iffy...

Barnes TSX are pretty stout, and being designed for rapid expansion, shouldn't have a problem with penciling through. I'd be wary of a shoulder shot though. Those shoulders bones are strong. Just personal experience of losing my first bear. 30-06 at 50 yards. Rolled the bear completely...
