Thanks fellas. I’m from Oklahoma but I’ve hunted some nasty stuff. It’s encouraging to hear about 7 pt bulls there. I havnt received many details from the state, surely they will send something out soon. Maybe I can find one.

Not too privey on merged threads 10-4. What terminal ballistics have you encountered with the 170 at high velocities?

Have you Long action long action long action, my 7wsm loads are 3.125 oal with the 180 berger vld and are not close to the lands. Same thing can be done with a 270 Wsm and the 170 berger vld. Take a look at my avatar pic. That's a short mag round built on a long action 3 shot group.
