    Ads with viruses

Be careful with the ads. Even with AdBlocker and active antivirus, loading the web site today tried to force me to download multiple files. One succeeded in downloading itself, but I deleted it before opening it. Please look at your Ad company. This is worse than an old Juarez site.

Best long range 6.5mm/.264 caliber for hunting deer sized animals

I prefer the 6.5-06. It is faster than most of the 6.5s listed, but it isn't really a barrel burner. I can get 3025fps pushing 140 Bergers with a mid load- I don't have to push to the hot end. That gives me great numbers, and keeps me supersonic past 1500 yards. And donor brass is everywhere-...

    6.5 build for 140 Bergers at 2900-3000?

It isn't a short action, but if you hit a wall, you might want to consider 6.5-06. Easy to get brass (30-06, 25-06, 270). I run a real mild load to 2940fps with Berger 140s. I have over 1500 rounds through it so far, my throat looks great, and my groups haven't openened up from the 0.15 I got on...

Where can I see a lot of guns?

Based on your path, I would expect you to go through Idaho Falls, Idaho on your way from Yellowstone to Vegas. Guns & Gear is a pretty big Gun Store, with an indoor range. If you have a stupid amount of money to spend, you can also fire a fully-automatic M2 Browning (Ma Deuce) while you are there.

    Seating Depth Range for ELD-X

If anyone cares, the Berger ladder seems to apply well to the ELD-X. I altered it, because I don't want to buy bottom metal unless I have to. I started at "barely feeding in the mag" length. So this is the result of my ladder. Keep in mind that I had extra high rings (my lows won't be here...

    Seating Depth Range for ELD-X

Thanks for the information. I use the Berger ladder on Bergers all the time. I had wondered if it might work on the ELD-X, because it seems to have a similar aggressive ogive, but the AMaxes were so oddball in their preferences that I didn't want to just assume.

    Seating Depth Range for ELD-X

Hopefully I can find a happy space far enough off the lands to keep the mag working. I don't want to buy bottom metal, and the 212s are longer than the Berger 210s. They are actually just a hair shorter then the Berger 230 hybrids.

    Seating Depth Range for ELD-X

Thanks. I guess I will try 0.010 - 0.100 by tenths then. These sound more forgiving than AMaxes. On my last AMax load (6.5-06), it varied from 1.6 to 0.3 MOA between 0.003 and 0.018 off the lands. Thanks again everyone.

Sounds as good as anywhere to start then. Thank you.

    Seating Depth Range for ELD-X

Has anyone come up with a reliable ladder for the ELD-X yet? Hornady claims they are not depth-sensitive, but they said the same thing about the A-Max, and it was very sensitive to seating depth. I want to try the 212s in a new 300 Win Mag build I just finished. I'm not sure who's ladder it is...

    Redding 6.5-06 dies won't spec

Thanks everyone. This issue is long since fixed. It was just bad dies. I only brought the thread back to life to share the loads that Sundance had asked me to throw up when I completed them.

    Redding 6.5-06 dies won't spec

The H100V was great with my Berger 140 VLDs, and only showed mild pressure signs at 49.0gr. It showed significant pressure problems with the 140 SSTs at the starting load of 45.0gr. Makes no sense. I had substantially flattened primers, cratering, and the third had extractor mark, chipped...
