    What bullets were you shooting?

    Shooting in the Rain

The difference is I wouldn’t have shot 5 shots low...and I wouldn’t have shot 5 high either...all part of the learning experience though. If the condition changed and I wasn’t able to read it and couldn’t wait it out then I would have shot the best shot I could and adjusted. If you went low...

    Shooting in the Rain

If you measured his group from the highest shot to the lowest shot it’s probably about a 18” group. 3 MOA

His group on the target is within the 7 ring. The 7 ring is 24”, 4 MOA. Each ring on FC Target is worth 1 MOA.

The black is 36”, the 5 ring which would be in white is 48”. His group on the target in question spreads out into the 7 ring. However, if you were to circle around the entire group it’s about the size of a 8 ring which is 18”, so his group is about 3 MOA.

One other thing to add, this target is easy to identify due to the aiming black. The MR-1 black only runs through to the 7 ring. The MR-1FC the black runs through to the 6 ring.

I figured you just confused the 10 ring and the x ring. Just wanted to clarify the correct size. A 3" 10 ring would definitely make things more challenging lol.

    Shooting in the Rain

    That's correct. It says exactly what I did. X ring 3.0 , 10 ring...6". You stated the 10 ring is 3" and that's incorrect.

    Shooting in the Rain

    That's not correct. MR-1FC target has a 6" 10 ring, and a 3" x ring. FC targets are based around a 1 MOA 10 ring. Sling targets have a 2 MOA 10 ring.

Not bashing, but Beluebow is correct. You stated you are new to long range and maybe this was your first F Class match. Everyone has to start somewhere. Maybe you aren't aware what the rifles are capable of or what is required to be successful in F Class. If you are serious about it you need to...

    Shooting in the Rain

I’ve had the same experience shooting high power matches in the rain. Never a significant difference. From .223 at 600 yards, or a 6.5-284 or .308 at 1000. The rain never played a big impact on poi. Certainly hard to believe a 2’ difference at 100 yards. I’ve never seen anything close to that at...

    Mountian Rifle Hunting Scope

the SHV is a nice scope but it’s twice the weight of the Leupold Vx3i

    Mountian Rifle Hunting Scope

Leupold VX3i in the 1” model is hard to beat when comparing weight to performance.

True up a Rem 700 or buy a custom action?

As far as accuracy, that factory Remington 700 will shoot just as good as a custom action. Lots of National Records set and National Championships won with factory Remington and Winchester actions. I buy custom actions for features, not accuracy. You don’t have to listen to me. Contact 6x...
