I thought one day I’d get back down to a “one gun” but couldn’t. My shots on deer are 300 yards and under. So, I’ll usually carry a different rifle every week or two. Think I’ve used 16 different caliber/cartridge on deer over the years. Just enjoy carrying each one of them when I have the...
I'm basis, been shooting a 270 for a long long time. It may not be the all around best but it's easy to reload (when you have components!) and factory ammo is available during these times. 270, 7-Mag & 7-08 in that order for me because I have them.
Same here; I agree with the 150g Rem Core-Lokt for 300 Yards or less. They're cheap and there's plenty of them on the shelves right now. And they do the job just fine on Blackbelt Whitetails.
Same here...some of the bigger bucks I catch on camera are in my back yard feeder in January and February, in the suburbs of Birmingham AL.
I guess a low pressure lifestyle leads to Long life!!

I started hunting with Marlin 336C in 35 REM when I was 14; 50 years ago! I still have that gun. Hunted with it for about 3 years before I moved up to a 270. Anyway I thought it was the greatest gun ever when I was a kid. Still love to get it out and shoot it with ghost ring sights from time to...
Not long range hunting but….was paper tuning by bow drew back focused on the the dot released and BANG. It ate me up jumped up into my side and shoulder….oh forgot to nock an arrow!!!!
Been hunting with 270 off and on since the 70s. I admit I’ve made a few bad shots but the vast majority have been bang flop or 30 yards and fall over. Today main combo is a Remington 700 Mountain 270 pushing Nosler partitions behind 59 grains of H4831Sc. Hope that helps.
