    243/6mm rifle build...thoughts?

Look at the 6XC. Peterson brass large or small primer, dies, reamers, 115 DTACs. All at more than competitive pricing.

If you could design a cartridge from scratch

SMC case design requires a hemispherical shoulder (round In appearance) and a longer neck. Thanks😎

If you could design a cartridge from scratch

5/35 SMC 2004 Elliptical shoulder on a 20 cal bullet on a 6BR case with a 1.5” case. Bullet diameter in relation to Cartidge base diameter approaches 2.5 to 1. So based on that a 1.75” case with a .585 diameter head shooting a 6mm bullet would be the next step up. Needs a case full of slower...

If you could design a cartridge from scratch

Some interesting experiences here. Takes a lot effort to properly commercialize an idea.

Sig wins contract with the 277 fury

The Sig case will be short lived. PCP’s plastic body with steel head is already the winner. 100,000 psi if the system can stand it.

Talk to me about small rifle primer based 6mm cartridges...

FYI- One of the 6XC other design parameters was the same linear body taper as a 308. All CM’s have less body taper than a 308. If you are hung with a long action then all the design parameters surrounding a 6XC become moot. However all cases shorter than the 6x47 will have issues feeding as...

Talk to me about small rifle primer based 6mm cartridges...

So when the 6XC was designed the intent was to shoot long heavy bullets (115 gr 6mm’s) out of a 2.850” magazine box.. All Creedmoor cases are .050” longer than the 6XC so the (6 & 6.5 long heavy bullets) need a longer magazine box. How do you set the parameters for this? You always seat the full...

    David Tubb NOSERING Tool

Since each mfg’s turned solid bullet line has their own distinct shape - it is best to send a couple our way and SSS can make a Bullet Collar to that mfg’s specific shape.

Those were Litz’s words.. However the NOSERING application originated from baboon hunting trips. Had several years (10 trips) of field testing with several projectile modifications. My goal was to create dynamic bullet expansion using the DTAC 115 grain 6mm target bullet. Our best year...

    David Tubb NOSERING Tool

John Masek - “FClass John” has been testing one for sometime now. He won the 2nd day aggregate at the Southwest F Class Nationals in Phoenix about a month ago using NOSERING bullets. Should be some videos from him shortly. Shot them over Litz’s Doppler in October. His words “Changes the...

If you are going to a the Final Finish product on a hand lapped barrel be sure and choose the TMS version as it is the less aggressive version.
