Understood, I meant altering the inletting or adding a thin spring washer to the top of the pillar.

Thanks, yeh I haven't shot it yet but don't see how it could be consistent as is. They just responded with a cut and paste from their FAQ on torque specs. I'll run it up to 55 but I don't see how that will compress the proud stock material enough to make contact with the pillar.

Tagging on here. I love the 1954 Roberts I grew up behind so am going to acquire its big brother. Just ordered 50pcs of Weatherby brass and will likely pick up a model 307 within the next two weeks. Would like to try the 101 LRX and 115 Bergers.

I built a 284 on a rem783 long action a year or so ago and love it. Haven’t had any issue finding quality brass. Great shooting budget build. Won’t be many elevation clicks difference at 600 between your options.
