I Know This Is LRH... But What Is The Shortest Distance You Have Taken A Live Target?

Many decades ago and as a young man living in the South, I actually hunted on rare occasions with a spear. It was during my decade of being into survival training and such practices. I never killed a deer under 3 yards, but I have shot several small game animals with a handgun at 3-4 feet.

Anybody else getting this on Accurate Shooter?

As a kid, your family had a phone? I guess I lived deeper in the stix than I thought.

    Hanging Steel Targets

Old conveyor belt material, but its getting harder to locate now. Otherwise, I've used chains attached with bolts, head front chain and nut/washer back, or for spinners/rockers, a welded piece of length of rebar with different sizes of targets on each end. I.e 10" bottom and 6/8" top. Similar...

    Estate sale finally pays off

Yea. It is a hit or miss proposition, but every so often, gold! Before Covid, I guess about one in four or five estate sales we would find hunting/shooting and reloading supplies of enough quality and quantity to make it all worth it. Yard sales a little less, but it had become kinda' a spring...

Just a few more of our usual visitors. We have so many and so often, typically, I bypass all the doe and other small buck pics.

Is your favorite rifle custom made or factory made ? I have a close tie

I guess one would have to define "favorite", as I have several custom and factory that shoot great groups, handle well, enjoy their furniture and I like for various reasons and purposes.

    Estate sale finally pays off

Great score! We've been doing this and similar for decades, and while the past few years have been less productive in reloading/shooting supplies, we still find a few good deals. Yesterday, my wife and I found a local estate sale, and I found a few great deals on hand tools, and my wife hit the...

    Powder for 308 20"

Both work well, and while I lean toward Varget, work the loads and see what your rifle prefers.

    Criminal’s Worst Nightmare

My brother and I were present for that event. It was at the grand opening of the Mossy Oak store/mall in West Point, MS. There were numerous pro shooters and events happening that day. Man, how time has flown since then.

    Criminal’s Worst Nightmare

No doubt JM would mess up your day in a big way, but I am reminded of what an 88 year old veterinarian told me at our shooting club decades ago. A few of us younger men, mid 30's I think, were jokingly conversing with him and others, and one of the young guys began talking about self defense...

    Hydraulic Form Die

I used hydro dies years ago, and they do have their place. However when using numerous wildcats, I found it more convenient and less costly, and sometimes less messy, to just go with either COW or use cheap seconds, pulled or for some calibers, cheap FMJ or even hard lead cast bullets over an...

Who Has Purchased Dies, Then Purchased a Rifle For Them?

I saw one about a year or so ago, and it was in decent shape. However, it has long since been sold. If hear or see of one again, I'll keep you in mind.
