Berger Bullets' Move To The G7 Standard BC By Bryan Litz

I'm kinda new to the forum, but not to long range shooting. .338/378 shot at 1970 yds right with 300 gr SMK. Used & am using program with PM Ballistics. Data works extremely well. Have had to go get deer at 1250,1455 & 100yds with total of 6 shots. G7 does work. Of course, that's just our...

    RCBS Chargemaster

Has anyone else having problems with these scales? Know of 3 sets that had to be returned & replaced, yet RCBS says no problems. Thanks, Dave

    Muzzle Brakes & bullet lift??

John, No, all my relation from around Madisonburg & Rebersburg Pa. Unless some of them may moved that way. I haven't seen any of them for so long, I wouldn't know them if I fell over them. Thanks for the interest...

    Muzzle Brakes & bullet lift??

A gunsmith told a friend if he ported a brake on both sides & the top, with no ports on the bottom, it would make the bullet hit 2 to 8" at 100yds. I thought the bullet was already past the holes & the gasses would have no effect. Anyideas on this

    338-378 & Powders

I appreciate your concern, but I'm telling you the burn rate is changing. I don't have a problem with these scales. When I can hold velocities to 1 1/2" vertical dispersion at a thousand yards I'm happy & I know people who would kill for those results. You sound like Hodgdon. I find it ironic...

    338-378 & Powders

Hi Joel, Thanks to all for the input. Let me say, I'm a real nut about this stuff. Consistent velocity, 8 to 12fps in 10 shots. Chrono always set up the same distance. Using the new RCBS Chargemaster scales. I'm quite involved with these biug guns as I build stocks & do all the bedding. Every...

    338-378 & Powders

Read Dans' article about barrel length, went with 40" to get 3000fps. Shoots great. Am using 8lb containers, but burn rate is changing from loading tom loading out of same container. Has changed while sitting in loaded cases. Using Oehler chronos, 33 & 35P hooked in series & keep careful track...

    338-378 & Powders

We used to use 1 in 10 with 30 Cal, but ended up chasing every deer we shot. Were using SMK 200 gr, & seemingly punching holes through them. Went to 1 in 8 & it made the 30 Cal into a deadly instant killer. Same happened with 338 Cal. Have been using H50BMG with this gun, but am finding burn...

    338-378 & Powders

Hey guys, I'm new to this. Am shooting a 338-378 with a 40" barrel, 1 in 8 twist. Using 300gr SMK (when I can get them). Wondering if anyone has any experience with Vihtavouri powder in this calibre & what results.

    338 win mag and deer?

Hey guys, New at this. 338 definitely great calibre. Shooting a 338/378 with a 40" barrel with 1 in 8 twist. Any of you had any experience with Vihtavouri powder in this class. Shooting 300 gr Sierra MK? Hope this is the right way to get involved in forums.
