I think a lot depends on whether or not you’re buying or building your rifle. For mostly whitetail with a big “maybe someday” opportunity to draw the Wichita Mtns hunt, my vote goes to 7PRC with 180 Bergers (VLD or Hybrid) if you’re buying a factory rifle. If you plan to build, a 7RM or PRC with...
I agree with Lance. Attached photo was a 6.5 PRC ladder test with 140 Elite Hunters in once fired Lapua. All rounds fired from 615yds. ES is around 20fps but shoots well at 59.0 grns.
Winchester case, 225 Accubond, CCI 250 - I only load temp stable powders so I started with H4831. I was unable to find pressure with H4831SC. Went to H4350 for a faster burn rate. H4350 shoots well at 2775 fps from a 23” bbl.
No experience with Maven but my Kowa 773 with wide angle eyepiece is great. IMO, it’s the best bang for the buck spotter out there. Cameraland had that combo for $1899 not to long ago.
As mentioned above, 1 part dicalcium phosphate, 2 parts loose red trace mineral, and 1 part loose stock salt. I’m in NE OK and didn’t have any activity until I went to 2 parts loose stock salt instead of 1. YMMV
I have used both and prefer a 3 MOA reflex sight due to the light weight and being small/streamlined. I’ve only used Vortex’s “Venom” and a couple of Burris FFIIIs. Both were flawless. The only difference was the Vortex had several manual brightness settings whereas the Burris had 3 which was...
I suggest a cook temp of 225°-250°. You can wrap at an IT of 145-150 to preserve moisture as it’s done taking smoke at that point anyway. Also when wrapping, a decent amount of squirt butter will help things stay good and juicy. You will need rest it for a couple of hours after cooking to let...
I HAD paid back orders at a few places and unpaid back orders in a few others (CC on file). I got one box early in the year. The rest of the back orders canceled due to the extended time I’d been on said back order list. I have since moved on to Hammers for my 300WM.
Prices are what they are discounting the GB scalps. Buy what you need when you find it plus some. I doubt you’ll see a decrease when the smoke settles. Look at building materials. Once they see this is what they can get for a product, the price tends to stick and add in astronomical inflation on...
