    300 WM Brass. What Brand?

That is impressive speed!! I know its apples to oranges, but with 83 Grains of H1000 and a 180 Barnes TSX my .300 Winnie cranks out 3110-3120 fps out of Winchester cases over my gunsmiths Oehler. OAL is a little longer than SAMMI at 3.44, but I still have to fill the cases with a 24" drop...

    300 WM Brass. What Brand?

Lapua is awesome brass, but I am not sure they are still making 300 WM. Plus, you need to sell a kidney to buy the stuff. I use Winchester, and put a little extra time into case prep. It's tough brass, and has stood up well (my latest batch of 100 has seen 4 reloads of 180 Barnes with 83...

    Handloads for 300 Win Mag

83 grains of H1000 and 180 TSX. COAL 3.44. Bug holes at 100 yards... As always, this is safe in my rifle, may not be in yours. Start low and work up...

    Handloads for 300 Win Mag

Of the powders you have listed, I agree with Greyfox. Although, H1000 with 180 TTSX is what I have the best luck with in my .300 Winny (Moose/Muley/Elk/Bear loading). I wont give you my load info, for obvious reason, but its potent. Your dad may not appreciate the thumping it will give him...

    N560

I appreciate the input, Bob. I will give 'er a go. I am also going to be working up a load for a new rifle in 6.5x55 Improved (40 degree shoulder). I am thinking that with the case capacity being comparable to 6.5-284, it should work with Berger 140's and the N560. It's not far off in...

    N560

Well, I am sitting on a few pounds of N560, and because I cant seem to get my hands on any H1000 lately ( and I have a freaking awesome load for 180 TTSXs with that powder...), I was wondering if anybody out there has had some luck with this powder in a .300 Winny. I am looking to load 185-215...

    300 win mag 185 berger

Well, if it were me, and I was happy with the accuracy, I wouldn't screw with it for a hundred fps...remember, "only accurate rifles are interesting."
