    Stock selection

Way to many stock to keep up with. Way too expensive to take a gamble on. So I'm trying to look at all options before I commit to one.

    Stock selection

Is that the same stock that I posted a picture of? I'm kind limited on the McMillans because the don't have many inlet ready in inventory and I'm hoping to use it this season. Nice to hear that you really like the Hunter though. I've looked at a lot of options and it's I. The top 3

    Stock selection

So the barrel is the Proof Research, it's the Sendero contour. When I asked McMillan if they new the contours they said Proof has its own Sendero contour so....? Whatever that means. Goal is a light rifle in the 6.5lbs range. Stocks are all 2lbs. If you use the edge fill that McMillan has...

    Stock selection

I'm actually not planning on glass bedding the McMillan but the Christensen normally is a bull barrel. So it would be more to take up the space left by using a smaller barrel. You also have to remember that I don't know a lot about this stuff. So asking me why? Well, idk, that's why I'm on...

    Stock selection

I'm going to preface this with.... I'm new to a lot of this.... that's why I'm asking for info. So I'm looking at 3 stocks. I haven't held a huge variety of stocks and I'm wanting to know people's opinions on a couple of different styles. What do You like and why. I'm building a 264 for...

    Carbon fiber weight savings

How much weight do you think it saved you doing carbon fiber over a standard barrel?

    Carbon fiber weight savings

I am looking into a carbon fiber barrel. I'm wondering how much weight savings people have had by switching to a Caron fiber wrapped barrel. I have a Rem 700 LR in 300wm that I am trying to reduce weight by changing the barrel. Doesn't seem like a lot of info online. I see a lot of opinions...

Proof barrel in Rem 700 LR stock

I have a Remington 700LR stock. Shoots like junk. Been debating on upgrading to a Proof Reaserch barrel. However, I would like to keep my stock but I know the barrel will not fit. My question is it worth trying to modify my stock to accept that different barrel? I am set on using the proof...

    rem 700 problem, need options

I'm buying new scope rings today and hopefully that helps. I've had a few people shoot my rifle and everyone is stumped.

    rem 700 problem, need options

Cleaning schedule has been regular. Never more than 20 rounds. Have about 120 rounds through it at this point. About 110 dissappointments....

    rem 700 problem, need options

I was told the proof barrel won't fit in. Y stock. How hard is it to open up the stock to get that new barrel to fit? Is it worth it? Something that needs to be taken to a gun smith? That would definitely be cheaper to keep that stock.

    rem 700 problem, need options

off the sled it's still the same story and I'm not the only person shooting it either. Same results even before I threaded. Figured it was just needing to break or needing to a different grain or hand loaded rounds. Nothing has helped. I didn't really think about voiding the warranty because...

    rem 700 problem, need options

Ok so I bought a Remington 700 long range 300 win mag last year. Hasn't ever shot right since I got it. Tried different calibers and different shooters and still no luck. At 90 yards I'm shooting a volleyball size group shooting from a lead sled. I've been considering a few options. Since I...
