I have a remy 700P long action, using a mark 4 6.5x20x50, and 1 piece mark 4 15moa base, will the mark 4 medium rings give me clearance, or do I need the mark 4 high rings?

Posting this for a friend so dont have all the details.... He's reloading for a 338 lapua, said he loaded 25 rounds of all the same charge, primer, oal, trimmed length etc.. he says this load will produce 1/2 moa groups at 100 yds. When he shot these 25 rounds, his groups where close to 2...

I just got some new Lapua .308 for my new gas gun.. I normally dont shoot this high quality brass so I always resize new brass, Do I need run lapua brass through a die or can I start reloading it?

thanks for all that replied.... I understand that I will get varying lengths if I measure from the tip of the bullet.. In my original post I stated that I use a comparator to meaure my rounds and Im still getting variations.... MY question is: do I let my rounds be off a few...

I started out seating with the die in its original place... NOW I'm adjusting the die so that when i measure the length using a comparator I get the same number, I dont know if this is right?

i just saw that someone has a similiar post with a 22-250... In my case it is not a compressed load, all of my primers are seated properly... everything on my press is tight.. using a comparator why am I getting different OAL's without moving my die???

Im shooting a 300 wm with berger 190gr vld's.. Using forseter benchrest seater.. use a comparator to measure my rounds and my guns shoots best with an oal of 3.871, my problem is that every time I load a round and measure it... I get a different OAL, anywhere between 3.870 to 3.875...
