i thinks its because the "factory ammo" is seated to work in all types of rifles! and fit the magazines as well. these bullets rock! but you have to set them out close to the lands. i set mine .010 off the lands. they are long bullets and when seated this way wont work in my mag well, but they...

i would like to see them sold in boxes of 250 like the amax or even boxes of 500 like the matchking. the vld hunting bullets are the most accurate bullet ive ever shot through my rem 700 in 30-06. .442" @ 200 yards with rem brass even!:D

Rich, it sure was. the load i use now is 58.2gr of H4350 @ approx 2757 fps for my short barrel. i was most likley thinking of imr 4064 witch was loads in the 40's, 46-48grs before i settled into the H 4350 gave me abit better accuracy. my very first reloads were AA 2520 @ 42.8 gr @2259...

Hammertyme, sounds like good advice. ill buy the .338 rum and enjoy it for what it is ,and if and when i shoot the barrel out get the new one chambered in the edge or the .338 improved w/40 deg shoulder said to hold 4-6% more powder than parent case. thanks erik
