    New build 7mm WSM

My gun was chambered for 168 Bergers, but seems to shoot the A-max and 160 Abonds very well too. I have switched to the Abond for a little tougher bullet for elk, and really like it. However, I always intended to shoot something in the 160-168 weight class and have never even tried a 180...

    New build 7mm WSM

I have a custom 7 WSM with a 25" Brux barrel as well. Really love the setup, but my 200 pieces of Win brass are getting really tired. I have invested quite a bit of time prepping that brass over the years. If I get desperate enough, I may try buying some Federal factory ammo and using that...

    Land Status Maps

One thing I think would be really nice about your maps is that the land ownership appears to be solid color. On my current overlays the cross hatching or shading on top of my topo are pretty hard to see exactly what kind of land you are on. I'll send you an e-mail and check it out...

    Land Status Maps

GPSmaps, Sorry for the confusion. The map I found with inconsistancies was the one entitled "Wyoming Landusage" map from GPSfiledepot located in the Wyoming directory dated 10/2/2008. The Western Land Ownership map that was in the same directory included 5 states, and the Wyoming land use map...

    Land Status Maps

GPSMaps, True statement...in comparing the Wyoming Land use map to BLM maps I found some inconsistancies in the areas I hunt. In checking the "Western Land Ownership" in the Colorado directory, I found it spot on with my BLM maps. Always a good idea to cross check and have paper maps as a...

    Land Status Maps

Visigoth, That is indeed a good site for Garmin owners. If you look under "Colorado" there is a Western Land ownership overlay that includes up to date (August 2010) land ownership for CO, WY, UT, AZ, and NM all in one file... Western Land Ownership Garmin Compatible Map - GPSFileDepot...

    Land Status Maps

Hey Mac, This website is only for wyoming, but you can use the pulldown menu and see gmu boundaries and then click on land ownership for the state. You can also overlay topographic quads and imagery. Use the sliders to adjust opacity, and you can get a "shaded-relief-topo-land-ownership map...

    B&C Medalist for #4 contour

Has anyone here openend up a B&C medalist (7775 - Win M70 short action) to fit a #4 contour barrel ? Was there much thickness left in the rails? Could you go to a #5 contour? My point of reference is for a Brux #4, which is .870" 6" forward, and .670" at the muzzle. Thanks, BT
