    Recoil

Sounds to me like you need different rifles. Maybe you should look at the old 6.5x55 Swede. Even your wife could shoot it. The recoil on that caliber is less than a .223/556. Another good round would be the 308. The recoil on it is moderated but no where near the recoil of the calibers you...

    Low recoil deer caliber

One of the lowest recoil rifles around is the 6.5x55 Swede. It has less recoil than the .223. The only hang up is the lack of ammunition. But, if you reload tuning it for accuracy is a breeze. In addition the Swede can be used to hunt almost every game animal known to man with the right...

    Help- my gun won’t group

Try different scope mounts. It may sound silly but this same thing happened to me. I purchased some warne scope mounts and it straightened out my problem.

Here We Go Again! I need to build a Mule Deer Rifle

If you hand load I would suggest the 6.5x55 Swede. I have one with a 1/8 twist, 24 inch barrel, and I use 140 gr BTHP bullets. It can be used at long distances or short and the recoil is so light your mother could shoot it. It has less recoil than a .223. You can still find Hornady 140 gr...

Here We Go Again! I need to build a Mule Deer Rifle

If you handload I would suggest a 6.5x55 Swede. I have used one for years. It has a 1/8 twist and I shoot BTHP bullelts with a 24 inch barrel. It can be used for long range or short with no problem. It has not failed me yet.

Barrel porting vs. muzzle break vs. suppressor ?

I would suggest a suppressor if you are worried about your hearing. A muzzle break will definitely be out. Breaks increase the report of the rifle and therefore increase the noise. I have to wear ear plugs and ear muffs when I am around anyone with a muzzle break with I try to avoid at all...

Practice Rifle .223 or 6.5 creedmoor

If you want a cheap practice rifle I would suggest a 22lr bolt gun. 22lr ammuniton is alot cheaper than .223 or the 6.5 Creedmoor. Practice is all about muscle memory anyway. I have used a CZ 22lr bolt gun and a pellet gun to practice with. I actually use a pellet gun that I can shoot in my...

    Muzzle Brakes....

Muzzle brakes to me are more of a fad rather than a necessity. I have never seen where a muzzle brake makes much of a difference on muzzle flip and as far as reduced recoil I can see that on a 50 cal on maybe even a 338 or a 300 RUM but for most of

Very poor accuracy with my new suppressor.

Anytime you put something on the barrel it is going to affect the POI. Re zero and try again.

    Brass cleaning issue

I use the Franklin Arsenal wet tumbler. It came with 5 lbs of stainless steel pins. I add a small squirt of Dawn dishwashing detergent and just a dab of lemishine. After depriming, throw the brass in the tumbler add some water and turn it on for 2 hours. The brass will look like brand new.

    Brass cleaning issue

The media you are using is dirty. I solved my brass problem when I went to wet tumbling with steel media. It takes a quarter of the time if that to get brass looking like it is brand new. I still have my old walnut media tumbler but rarely use it after getting a wet tumbler.

Best long range 6.5mm/.264 caliber for hunting deer sized animals

My two choices are not listed. The 6.5x55 Swede is one and the other would be the 6.5x300 WSM. Now the second one is an absolute beast for long range shooting.
