    Inquiring minds want to know what to do to improve the feel. I thought about 800 grit lapping compound?... I usually tweak the firing pin and cocking ramp but this bolt feel is the poorest Savage I've had.

    Newbie about to start loading for short barrel .308 and looking for some advice

    I use AR-Comp to get 2950ish out of a 20" barrel with the 130 TTSX. Quickloads says its all burnt under 13 inches.

    I'm expecting an impact velocity of 25-2600 because I normally get shots around 50 yards. I know all these bullets should work fine at extended range but which one would hold together best at my usual close kill distances. I listed these three because I have a bunch of each.
