Alaska Long Gun

Hello everyone. I'm new to this, so please be kind. I just recently got myself a Remington 700 VTR in .308 and ordered a Springfield Squad Scout rifle. The Remington will be wearing a Zeiss 6.5-20 Scope. The Scout, I haven't decided on yet. No rounds have been fired at this time. I want to break the barrels in, any recomendations??
