Morning Guys, through some trading I am now the proud owner of a new ,(to me) Savage 25'06. This is the 3rd or 4th 25 that I have owned, and I have enjoyed all of them. It has been some time since I have loaded for the quarter bore so was looking for some favorite loads in the 110 and 117/120...

I've traded off and sold a few that I would like to have back, but the one I would love to still have was a Remington Model 700 Mountain Rifle in 25'06. Walnut stocked, well balanced, sub MOA, and you could carry it all day. It was no 1000 yard instrument, but was a great hunting rifle !

For over 25 years I've loaded 54.1 gr. of IMR 4831 behind a 140 grain Hornady SPBT, and as the camera people say, "point and shoot". getting 3,000 fps out of a Model 700 Mountain rifle, and it's a sledgehammer on game.

In reviewing what you are going to use the rifle for the 25 '06 is the way to go. It is an easy conversion, and a wonderful caliber to shoot. Yes it has a pretty good kick, but a very accurate caliber. I shoot 165gr Partitions .
