Can someone recommend a good smith to install pillars and glass bed my rifle? It is a Remington 700 CDL.
Also, not well versed in the value. What would be a fair price for the work?
thanks.
Nat,
I can't speak to the problem you are having, sorry.
However, very interested in what you got to work in your .300 Win Mag to get the 180's to shoot that well.
I have been working on and off to get that bullet to shoot in mine and I'm finally having some hope...but not holding my...
I decided to try giving the 180 grain Swift Scirocco II a whirl in my .300 Winchester Magnum again after letting them sit on the shelf for the last 7 seasons. When I tried them before I was pretty methodical, but started them close to the lands and worked deeper until I gave up. Nothing seemed...
Thanks,
That was what I was thinking...in fact my thought was to fire one round out of each gun and start over with the first. By the time I change guns, acquire the sight picture and squeeze the round off on three different guns I'm thinking that will give them ample time to cool between...
I have cartridges loaded up for three different rifles (.257 Wby, .270 Win, .300 Win Mag) according to the instruction given. Before I get to go out and shoot these I have one question:
When firing each three shot group am I supposed to shoot the three as quickly as I can, or am I to wait...
Benchracer,
Thank you for your input. Another question.
The load I had worked up with the original SS was max in my rifle with IMR 4831. I'm thinking I need to back down 1 to 2 grains to do the seating test. Is there any reason to do any more than that?
From what I can gather, the...
When the Swift Scirocco II first came out I was giddy with excitement as the original Scirocco shot wonderfully in my Browning A-Bolt .300 Win Mag. It was a sub-m.o.a. shooter with those bullets.
I took the II's out and tried them...and tried them...and tried them and could not get them to...
I am shooting the 180 grain Accubond over 76.0 grains of RL22 lit up by a Fed 215M all housed in a WW case.
Out of my Browning Stainless Stalker I'm getting an average of 3,162 fps and sub moa groups.
As always, start low and work up. Good luck.
180 Accubond...that is all he will need.
I used to shoot the 200's out of my .300WM, but went to the 180's a couple of years ago. Bullet is superb for the application.
I have a Ruger M77 old style (Tang Safety)barreled action. It is a magnum action with a Ruger factory barrel installed. It has been chambered to .30-.338 Winchester Magnum. It appears that the barrel that is installed must have started its life as a 30-06 as it is the standard 22" in length...
I took my .257 Weatherby out a couple of weeks ago while checking zero on one of my other rifles and decided to run it through the same exercise...even though I am still working on a final load.
I fired a couple of groups with the gun at 100 yards, and while not stellar groups I felt like a...
I am looking to purchase a new .257 Weatherby. I have narrowed the options down to three choices:
Weatherby Vanguard Stainless Synthetic
Weatherby Vanguard Sub MOA Stainless
Remington LSS
Help me decide.
Thanks.
