TBAC Ultra 5.30 Barrel Adapter Search

Lance, have you used the 'non-timed' model brake? I'm a firm believer in the side port brakes, especially for shooting prone, but with a suppressor installed it wouldn't seem to matter, unless all those ports cause other issues. Thanks for the excellent pictures, that really helps.

TBAC Ultra 5.30 Barrel Adapter Search

Thanks. Mile High is also out of stock, but thanks for the tip, since I wasn't aware of them. TBAC shipped properly, but the confusion occurred when there was a transfer between two stores.

TBAC Ultra 5.30 Barrel Adapter Search

Community Update: First, a very big thank you to all of you that have contributed to my education. My confidence level has more than doubled in just the last 24 hours, thanks to you taking time to respond. What a special community we have. Yes, I do have the suppressor and it is the CB...

TBAC Ultra 5.30 Barrel Adapter Search

I'm looking for advice on where to find and what to buy for mounting a TBAC Ultra 5 .30 to a 5/8x24 threaded barrel. This is my first suppressor and feel totally lost, so any help would be appreciated.

IMR 4831 Go to powder for what?

I drove all the way from Falcon, CO to Knotts when Unsane was in office for some H4350; love that place, but the last time I was through Clayton their big sign was gone and I missed them, turned around and found them still in business on the second try. Recommend you ask for what you are looking...

What powder does Hornady use in their Precision Hunter ammo?

I was shooting fantastic groups with an older box of PH in a 6.5 PRC, but when I opened another box, the group size was still under one MOA, but twice the size of the older ammo and also impacted slightly differently. So like you, I came home and pulled bullets, because I had 10 boxes of ammo...

    First reloader setup to last

What Cagun said, plus. I do tumble my brass and mounted a RCBS priming tool on a board that I C-clamp to my reloading bench when I'm priming cases. Another change I made last year was to remove the expander from the FL sizing dies, decap with a universal decaping die from RCBS, and then expand...

    338-06 A square vs 338-06 AI

Great info! JES did both of mine as well, about 10 years ago.

    338-06 A square vs 338-06 AI

I have both the standard and AI. I get 2800 fps with the 180gr Accubond in the standard and the same 2800 fps with the 200gr AB in the AI. No big deal fireforming the AI cases out of some R-P brass I had on hand, just load and shoot; yet to lose a case. However, because of the McMillan Hunter's...

    .277 caliber input

Thanks for your help. Berger didn't have data on-line for anything larger than 150gr, so I sent then a request for 170gr loading data. The 150VLDs shoot really well, but was hoping to take advantage of the 170's. Tried Magnum and Magpro. Magnum was accurate, but under 2600fps; hoping for better.

    .277 caliber input

I have a Benchmark 23" with 1:7.5 twist on my old 700 Rem 270 Win and was just able to get some of the 170 EOLs. My earlier chronographed velocity with the 170 Nosler Ballistic Tip was unimpressive. Since I can seat the bullets out to 3.65 COAL I assumed that I should likely be using more...

How much throat erosion is “normal”

I finally bought a bore scope so that I would know when a barrel was clean and not be wasting time and effort, or thinking it was clean when it really wasn't. Of course, I 'ruined' a couple of barrels on old family rifles when I saw just how pitted they were, but the targets said the bore was...
