Ok, so Im about to order some Duracoat ( Armacoat ) and am just wondering what kind of precautions you guys take when painting an entire rifle ( barreled action, scope, and stock ). How well do you tape off the trigger area? And do you completely mask off the port and bolt?

I do, really helps when you have a bi-pod, usually the bi pod digs into my shoulder, not anymore haha.

Now, if I paint the barrel and action as well, will it help to prevent rust, or will it speed it up because i can not oil it?

What are your guys thoughts on tactical bolt knobs? I'm thinking of putting on my 270, are they worth it? I've also heard that they make the bolt some-what easier to lift. Any info would be great.

Another question, how large in diameter do the holes for the pillar have to be?

When drilling the holes for the pillars, how deep should they be?

Up here in Canada the cheapest I've found that rifle is $1400, so yes you got a GREAT deal.

So I'm looking to buy a boyds laminate stock for my Marlin XL7, this rifle comes pillar bedded from the factory, so, will I be able to use the pillar bedding in the new stock?
