    Muzzle loader Basics

Afternoon JP100, If your looking for a percussion cap in .45 or.50, I would look into a Thompson Center Hawken. Although, they have recently been discontinued, I assure you that it was not a quality issue. I have just finished reconditioning mine and it looks and shoots great. I use...

    Load data for 180gr sst/ 308 or 30-06

Evening everyone, Interesting Topic for the Forum. I appreciated the comment by Bart B with regards too high RPM's influencing accuracy. I did a quick spreadsheet for twists, 9-10-11-12. Velocity range of 2300 to 2700 FPS. Interesting to me was that the difference in RPM's between a 9 twist...

The Saga Of The Uphill-Downhill Shot, Part I

Good Afternoon' I would like to participate in this conversation. Unfortunately, I don't know how to insert an Excel spreadsheet I created called " Shooting Angle Matrix ". I have always thought, a direct range to the target multiplied by an angle multiplier, base on the degree of...

    Primer vs. Powder

Afternoon to all, I think we would all agree that Powders have different Burn Rates and Primers are rated Hot to Cool. My question is: Would you match a slow burning powder to a cool primer ? How about a fast burning powder to a Hot primer? Your reply would be appreciated.
