Why e-bikes give more exercise

They really can - but for several different reasons.

A customer took one to the greater southwest on a dark horn hunt. He said he had totally prepared the e-bike for his two-week hunt.

But he apparently underestimated the cactus' ability to pierce the two-ply tire along with the ineffective inner sealing solution he used.

So after three flats on his first day afield, he parked that mode of transportation and returned to a borrowed Jeep with a muffler and a spark arrester - for the remainder of his trip.

I have the same Radd as GAhunterJim. I put on bigger racks front and back and extra battery, locks, and a good helmet. I have 3 other bikes that have been sitting since my knees went haywire. I'm riding the e-bike almost everyday. I know all the roads in the area now. I bought it to hunt with, but I'm using it for exercise so far. I get a heck of a workout on it. On 3 I can burn the battery up in a few hours if i want. It's on 2 most the time. I haven't had it off road much yet. Grouse opens in a few days. I can't wait!!!
I wouldn't hesitate to pull my deer cart with it. My son has been pulling his decoy carts for the last 5 years with a Radd when we can't drive the fields. The bikes need a lot more attention and clean up when ya work them that hard. He has not had a flat since he put some slime in the tires. I did that with mine the day i got my e-bike. I still carry a patch kit and tubes. Cactus would be a tough one I bet 🤪
I'm definitely getting more exercise on my e-bike. Now the wife needs one.

Obviously, per pedal revolution, a regular bike requires more effort.

But if you actually take time to read the article - you will find the article's point is that the pedal assist bikes easier operation results in those riders spending much more time at it than if they only had a regular bike to ride. Therefor more exercise.
I definitely agree with this. My parents and I just all bought ourselves E-Bikes recently and we use them a lot more than we did our standard bikes. My father has a torn ACL on both knees and being able to include him in our rides has really improved the amount of time we spend on them. It may not be as much "work", but we sure get a lot more exercise than we otherwise would.

In addition: Have a good customer who is eaten up with "dark-horn" hunting in Mexico, as a freelancer. Leased a camp with other hunters with a similar focus.

Last year he bought a HD-e bike for quiet transportation for his distant hunts. Working on the Gulf most of his adult life no one told him about cacti or sand burrs.

Upon his return last season the e-bike went on Facebook/marketplace for sale. What was the problem? We ask…

"The first three days, I spent (expletives have been deleted) changing flat tires and forcing green Slime into bicycle inner tubes !..,I was never able to ride the bike for more than an hour without a flat!!! I pushed that…more than I rode it!"

Good exercise, but hunting applications need more pre-planning..,

I just became an E-bike owner. A ANCheer from wal-mart, $500 to the house. First week 48 miles, just on my second charge, petal. Plan on using it for hunting, silent.
