I'm going to get another rifle for dual purpose of hunting/punching paper that I am going to try and refrain from going over board on like some of the others. At most bed the action or swap stock out at most. I am pretty much stuck between the Savage 10 Tactical or the Bergara B14 HMR. What has been personal experiences with either? I want to hunt with it and be able to hit steel at 1000 without building another full on custom.

Bergara. Mine has been half moa with factory ammo, and .25 moa with handloads.
Also AICS mags and it fits remmy 700 stocks and triggers. The savage is a little sloppy compared to the bergara, and you won't need to change stocks on the bergara.
It has an aluminum chassis in the stock.

Don't wish to be spreading unsubstantiated rumors but I have read more than a few reviews of Bergara customer service that were quite critical. I can not hurt to do a little research into Bergara CS be fore you buy.

I have a Bergara HMR Pro in 6.5 Creedmoor and it shoots awesome. Quality is great. I looked at the HMR and the HMR Pro and upgraded to the Pro. I feel it was well worth the money.

Savage rifles' out of the box accuracy is hard to beat and they are by far the most DIY friendly when you are ready to customized it yourself.

You don't need me to tell you what to do...I was trying to recommend a Bergara to a friend...after digging around, reading reviews, videos, etc, I'm now of the opinion that if accuracy is the goal, they are not as good as many $400 rifles.

I have a Savage 12 BVSS that shoots 0.75" groups with ease. My buddy's 10 fcp shoots under 0.5" with factory ammo, and doing the same internet search shows this to be common. That said, these are Savages more expensive rifles.

Please keep us up to date on your groups. I'm interested in hearing more as they look like niceguns. I was hearing 1.5" groups though....

Heck, my Ruger M77 will put 5 into 1", and Ruger's are usually dogs.
