Vortex reticle question

Hello all, I had a question for any Vortex owners out there that are hunters. I have a Vortex viper 4-12x40 with the bdc reticle. I have found the reticle too thin for me at low light when held against game. My question is do you think going to a V plex reticle will be better? I see the crosshair section has the same subtensions but on the plex the thicker posts exrend closer together. Anyone hunted with both by chance?Thank you for any input, it's much appreciated!
